A Rediscovered Passion

I was in a cheerful mood, as school had gone decently well that day, but more so because it was finally Thursday. On Thursdays, I got an hour to actually do something I was passionate about, and something I had nothing to complain about, dance. Every single week, I would grab my dance bag with my old and worn out jazz shoes, and rush to fill up my water bottle before I ran over to the car. Dance made me feel like I was actually good at something. It lifted my self esteem like a rocket ship that was never coming back down. The dance studio was my happy place. When I got to the dance studio after school, the butterflies in my stomach fluttered with excitement, but also with a little bit of nervousness, as we were getting so close to recital day, and we had to nail this piece.               As I was walking over to sit down and put my jazz shoes on, I noticed something felt a little of...

That's what friends are for...

Hellooo! I apologize for not posting in a while, but this post is a bit different...I hope you enjoy it, though. :)  You know, COVID has been a journey. To be honest, I don't really remember life without it anymore 😂. Along with it have come numerous obstacles...I can speak for myself at least; however, we all survived, and we survived together (even though it's still going on...we've gotten through it for the most part 😁). There have always been people that have supported me regardless: my friends and family, and I just really wanted to thank them.  I kid you not, I could be excited about a good test score, or extremely sad about something else, my friends and family were always there to celebrate with me during good times, and encourage and motivate me when I needed to be during hard times. I just wanted to thank everyone who's been there for me, regardless of me not always being able to do the same for them. I am truly lucky to have people who look out for me and c...

Luck?

Image
Now, St. Patrick's Day, the holiday celebrating the Irish, leprechauns, luck, and basically everything green, is coming up in a few days. I'm not sure if you guys have ever thought or wondered about this, but I've always wondered whether luck actually exists. Image Courtesy: Shutterstock Luck, if it does exist, is always sudden, unexpected, and basically indescribable. There's no way to describe luck; I, at least can't find a way to do it.  I personally think luck is an illusion. Now, other people might have different opinions, but by definition, "luck is the phenomenon and belief that defines the experience of notably positive, negative, or improbable events". That's basically saying predicting the future is possible. Something good happening, doesn't necessarily depend on something else, I think it's more about your attitude of approaching it. According to research done ( website I got this information from ),  "lucky" people are of...

M y wishes for the world this new year: ~ The vaccine for COVID-19 is effective . Scientists have been working extremely hard for quite a long time to formulate a vaccine for the global pandemic. Recently, two vaccines have been released. Hopefully at least one works and prevents people from getting the virus! ~   A world free from war. In the past couple centuries, decades, years, even months, there have been international conflicts. For example, India and China had a grudge against each other, as China was trying to encroach India's border. Hopefully the number of conflicts like that can diminish. ~ A world free from hunger. In many countries, especially African ones, hunger is a huge issue. Everyday, several people are dying, simply because they do not have enough food. Hopefully, we can solve this issue, or at least decrease the amount of people dying of hunger.  "The world has enough for every man's need, but not for every man's greed" - Mahatma Gandhi ~ ...

A Time to Give

Image
Image courtesy- Pixabay Giving all starts with the mindset of wanting to help others and not expecting anything in return; that is what true giving is all about. This time of year is all about being grateful for what you have and being willing to help and give to others.  Image courtesy- Pixabay Whether it's something as simple as gathering all the things you don't need or use and giving it away to a charity, or as complicated as buying the most expensive gift for a celebrity, it's all about spreading happiness and making someone's day. This year, however, Christmas is going to be much different for many people, given the worldwide pandemic. Because of everything going on, people have lost their homes and don't have the simplest necessities, such as a toothbrush. This year, please consider making at least one person's day by making, buying, or donating something that could potentially bring a smile on someone's face.  "No one has ever become poor by gi...

About Me

I'm a daughter trying to not let my parents down, a sister trying to be a good role model for my younger brother, a student attempting to impress my teachers and get good grades, and a friend always trying be there. Hi guys! I'm Aarya Bhushan, I am 14 years old and live in the United States. I have a younger brother who is always there to make my day happier and more lively, though he can occasionally get out of hand. More about me: I love drinking boba and listening to music. Together? Haven't really tried it now that I've thought about it 😂. Boba, or bubble tea is a tea-based drink. This drink originates from Taiwan, specifically Taichung in the 1980s. Boba traditionally includes small, chewy tapioca pearls in addition to a selection of other toppings. There are many varieties of the drink, but my favorite is a nice silky mango smoothy with boba, lychee jelly, and mango jelly 🧋😋. Like I mentioned, I love music. Honestly, I can't imagine living without it 🎶. M...
