Luck?
Now, St. Patrick's Day, the holiday celebrating the Irish, leprechauns, luck, and basically everything green, is coming up in a few days. I'm not sure if you guys have ever thought or wondered about this, but I've always wondered whether luck actually exists.

Luck, if it does exist, is always sudden, unexpected, and basically indescribable. There's no way to describe luck; I, at least can't find a way to do it.
I personally think luck is an illusion. Now, other people might have different opinions, but by definition, "luck is the phenomenon and belief that defines the experience of notably positive, negative, or improbable events". That's basically saying predicting the future is possible. Something good happening, doesn't necessarily depend on something else, I think it's more about your attitude of approaching it. According to research done (website I got this information from), "lucky" people are often people that are open to new things, happy, and easy-going. On the other hand, not-so-lucky people tend to be people that aren't as happy.
This all boils down to being happy and satisfied with what you have. Happiness to me, is the presence of positive emotions and absence of negative emotions. I also think happiness has a lot to do with satisfaction. A lot of times people are angry or sad because they are unsatisfied. However, if you are satisfied, and have everything you want, you would end up being happy. Satisfaction also goes hand in hand with being grateful and pleased with what you have. If you are grateful and thankful for everything you have, you are satisfied; and if you are satisfied, you are happy. :)
For example, you might be in school, surrounded by your friends with the newest iPhones, while you're stuck with a flip phone along with bad luck, as your parents refuse to get you a new phone. Now, you might think it is unlucky to have a flip phone, but some people don't even get phones, or anything at all for that matter. However, if someone were to come across as thankful for having a flip phone, they might consider themselves lucky.
"Sometimes we focus so much on what we don't have that we fail to see, appreciate, and use what we do have!" ~Jeff Dixon
I know this is an unusual post for something St. Patrick's day themed, but remember to appreciate what you have, as there are millions of people out there who would be more than happy having the things you have. (You've probably heard that from your mom before, but it's true. 😉)

Ahahaha I think this is really well thought out. I guess I think that luck is an illusion that blinds people from accepting the truth?
